About

Jamie Maschler is a Seattle-based accordionist, music director, and educator whose work highlights the remarkable versatility of the accordion. She has played the instrument since the age of four, spending years performing, refining her craft, and competing at a high level. As The Atlantic noted, “Jamie Maschler knows the versatility of the accordion better than most. She has played the instrument since she was four and spent years perfecting and competing. Talents like her seem to be increasingly valuable.”
An ambassador of the accordion, Jamie is a co-founder of the Brazilian ensembles Foleada and En Canto, as well as the accordion duo Creosote. Her performance credits include appearances with the Pueblo Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and Seattle Philharmonic, and she has twice performed the role of Nelly Friedman in Paula Vogel’s award-winning play Indecent. In 2018, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) featured Jamie in its Museum of Making Music exhibition, Accordions: Expanding Voices in the USA.
Jamie holds a Bachelor of Music from Cornish College of the Arts and studied under three-time Latin Grammy nominee Jovino Santos Neto and is based in Seattle, Washington. She works with Petosa Accordions, where she actively contributes to the reinvention and contemporary visibility of the instrument while sharing her passion with a global accordion community.
